Underfloor Heating CutawayWhat is underfloor heating?

Underfloor heating is an efficient form of central heating that dispenses with the need for unsightly radiators fixed to walls. Water pipes or electric cables under the floor are used to heat the floor which, in effect, acts as one large radiator.

Comfortable

With conventional central heating, the majority of heat is convected air, which rises, making the ceiling one of the warmest places in the room. However, 50% of the warmth generated by underfloor heating is radiant heat, where the floor releases heat evenly, which is then absorbed by people and objects in the room with very little going to waste. It is healthier too. The air is not dried out as it is with radiators, the humidity being typically 12% higher than in a conventional heating system

Efficient

Installing an underfloor heating system could save you up to 15% on fuel bills compared to a typical system with radiators. The cost to install should be no more than a good quality conventional system with radiators.

Electrical Underfloor Heating

Hot Floor Underfloor Heating Specialists Electric underfloor heating systems use a conductive cable laid under the floor which is heated by passing an electrical current through the wire. The system is normally controlled by having a thermostat placed in each zone (or room) to independently control the temperature in each zone. With electric underfloor heating there is no need for a boiler and it is the ideal solution for a single room or, a whole property.
